  • Occupational Therapist

    Provide early intervention services utilizing occupational therapy expertise, family and community centered practices to ensure families have options in fostering the early development of their child. Work in mobile community-centered environment using electronic and web-based documents and record keeping.

    Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
    -Provide assessment of sensory, motor, adaptive and assistive technology/adaptive equipment needs when requested by the IFSP team.
    -Complete on-going assessment according to system policy.
    -Provide evidence-based interventions based on the Individualized Family Support Plan (IFSP).
    -Utilize intervention strategies that build on the routines of the child and family and may occur in multiple natural environments.
    -Utilize early childhood best practices that look at the whole child not just individual modalities.
    -Serve as primary provider for assigned children. Utilize team-based consultations from other team members.

    Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
    Describing the Early Intervention Program to families in a way that is easy to understand and family friendly.
    Understanding family rights under Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act and teaching them to families.
    Ensuring family rights are protected and all timelines are met in accordance with state and federal regulations (Prior written notice, informed parental consent, Native language, Access to records, Confidentiality, Dispute resolution, 45 day timeline, 28 day timeline, 6 month and annual review dates, Funding, and Transition timelines).

Early intervention services shall be provided by qualified providers who meet the state personnel standards for each early intervention service. Early intervention providers shall maintain current and accurate documentation, including certifications, licensing, endorsements, and registrations and shall register, and update his or her information at least annually, in the statewide data system. An early intervention provider shall complete all required training, as defined by the department.
